If you prefer to transform the daybed into some comfortable couch so your family and your guests may sit in, you can add some cushions that will compliment the color of the daybed covering. You can go for the elegant touch given off by the tassels or employ brightly colored patterned cushions. The pillows may be added and they can be in various shapes and sizes.
Alongside these variations, the styles of today`s daybeds are often accented with wooden finals, brass, and other matching furniture. There are those that come with coordinated mirrors and dressers too. You can definitely choose the design of the daybed which you think suits your taste best.
While daybed bedding is designed for the twin size mattress, there are some significant differences, the most noticeable being the daybed comforter. A daybed comforter is 52" wide x 99" long while a standard twin comforter is 62" wide x 86" long. If you would like to use a regular twin sized comforter on your daybed, keep in mind that you will have a 10-inch overhang (width) to contend with and it will be 13" shorter than a comforter designed for a daybed. A daybed comforter is intended to hang parallel to the daybed`s back rather than a standard twin comforter that is parallel to the headboard.
Daybeds come to be made by materials of metal, wicker, wood, or the combination of these. The wood variations come in the forms of honey oak, natural oak, mahogany, walnut, rustic white, toffee, medium, expresso wicker, fruit wood, autumn brown, and cherry. On the other hand, the metal variations usually are in the forms of mocha frost, flint, antique white, antique bronze, black walnut, antique cocoa, powdered sugar, dusky bronze, bronze sugar, matte black, and pewter walnut.
